The atmosphere of the beer hall

The restaurant hall of Plevna, located in the historic Finlayson factory area, reminds of Central European beer cellars and halls. Our prompt, traditional-dressed staff makes sure that the service works.

You can choose from a wide selection of products from our brewery and delicacies from our varied menu. Lunch is also available on weekdays.

Koskipanimo operates in the same premises as the restaurant, whose products can be enjoyed in an authentic beer restaurant milieu. You can take the brewery’s products with you from our beer store. You can also buy brewing products in our online store and conveniently pick them up at Plevna.

The interior of the restaurant includes e.g. beer pint and bottle opener collections. There is enough to look at and explore for hours.

Plevna – A Family-Owned Business

Brewery Restaurant Plevna and Koskipanimo are proudly a private business owned by two families, and the importance of family ownership has been a cornerstone of the business from the very beginning.
On October 31, 1994, Brewery Restaurant Plevna opened its doors in the Finlayson area, which at that time was still a remote part of Tampere. The area housed a badminton hall, storage spaces, and offices, as well as the still-operating Galleria Himmelblau and the Finlayson shop. Back then, commutes started and ended at gates monitored by a gatekeeper.

Over the years, the Finlayson area has developed into a bustling neighborhood, and Plevna has experienced a variety of changes—ranging from economic recessions to the pandemic years, as well as the positive growth of beer culture. What began with just two original beers has grown into a wide selection of around 20 different beers, three ciders, and traditional Finnish mead (panimosima). Oktoberfest has remained a highlight of Plevna’s annual events from the very beginning.

Our menu has retained strong influences from Central Europe and Finland, while also considering modern dietary trends. Table service, high-quality brewery products, and local food are a matter of pride for us, and with Oktoberfest, Lederhosen and Dirndl dresses have become part of Plevna’s tradition. Our focus is on the future, and we hope for successful years ahead, as well as unforgettable beer experiences for the people of Tampere and visitors from around the world!
